i would like to urge everyone to start using sunscreen products whenever you're going out in the sun, if you dont already do so. we're already exposed to some many types of cancer so let's reduce the chances of getting skin cancer through the exposure to uv rays.

SPF 30 or higher is recommended, and apply 20 minutes before going outdoors.

i should volunteer for the national cancer council.

Captain Underpants

I'm not sure how many of you all have heard of this. Anyone? Its a comic/story book. I used to read them back in Year 7 & 8. Great fun. Its about two 4th graders, George and Harold who write comic books about a superhero they made up in their spare time, 'Captain Underpants'. However, their superhero comes alive when they hypnotize their principal, Mr.Krupp, to act like Captain Underpants. From then on, whenever a person snaps his/her fingers, Mr.Krupp transforms into Captain Underpants and can only turn back if water is poured over his head.

Some of my favourite books of the series are; Captain Underpants and the Invasion of the Incredibly Naughty Cafeteria Ladies from Outer Space (and the Subsequent Assault of the Equally evil Lunchroom Zombie Nerds), Captain Underpants and the Wrath of the Wicked Wedgie Woman and lastly, Captain Underpants and the Big, Bad Battle of the Bionic Booger Boy Part 1: The Night of the Nasty Nostril Nuggets.

Anyways, why am I blogging about this you might wonder. The other day, I had to go to my sister's school, the Year 6's were so called 'graduating' into secondary school, so they had a ceremony to commemorate the event. Some students gave short speeches of their times in primary school, their favourite teachers, what they enjoyed most, what they want to me when they grow up, bla bla bla and so on. Anyways, this one kid came dressed up like Captain Underpants and said that his most enjoyed moment in school was when he played as Captain Underpants in some play in Year 3.

Have to admit that he was brave coming to something like this dressed like that. After all, parents and teachers were present as well. But he enjoyed it.

Scary or Coincidence

Check these statistics out. It shows the relationship between the English Premiership Champions and the Spanish La Liga Champions for the past 6 years.

2001-2002 Arsenal - Valencia
2002-2003 Manchester United - Real Madrid
2003-2004 Arsenal - Valencia
2004-2005 Chelsea - Barcelona
2005-2006 Chelsea - Barcelona
2006-2007 Manchester United - Real Madrid

Scary shit right there. What are the odds of this continuing for the next 6 years. If it does, lets hope Real Madrid keep winning La Liga.

New 7 World Wonders

As many of you all should be aware of, the world once had its original Seven Wonders of the World (or the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World). It was a widely known list of seven remarkable man-made constructions of classical antiquity.

The original World Wonders were; (clockwise from top-left) The Great Pyramid of Giza, The Hanging Gardens of Babyllon, The Statue of Zeus at Olympia, The Colossus of Rhodes, The Lighthouse of Alexandria, The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, and The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus.

Sadly, of the seven, only one still stands; The Great Pyramid of Giza. Four were destroyed by earthquake's, one by arson and the other by fire.

You Know Your In College When....

1. High school started before 8am, but now anything before noon is considered “early.
2. Weekends start on Thursday.
3. 6am is when you go to sleep, not when you wake up.
4. Instead of falling asleep in class, you stay in bed.
5. You know how late McDonald’s, KFC, Pizza Hut, etc. are open.
6. You wash dishes in the bathroom sink.
7. The standard of meals per day falls to two, sometimes just one.
8. Your trash is overflowing and your bank account isn’t.
9. Your breakfast consists of a coke or cereal bar on the way to class... anything with caffeine will do.
10.You try to study but seem to procrastinate by eating, going to study breaks, talking topeople, etc...
11. You sleep more in class than in your room.
12. You stay up late to finish homework then sleep through the class in which it was due.
13. Printers break down only when you desperately need them.
14. Old school Nintendo... and guitar hero... are pretty much the best things ever.
15. Going to the grocery at midnight is completely normal.
16. You can't imagine life without your computer/cell phone/ ipod.
17. A canceled class is almost as exciting as Christmas.
18. Your teachers swear in class and no one cares.
19. Candles in your dorm room are considered contraband, but cigarettes are ok.
20. You know what people carrying suspiciously heavy backpacks after dark are doing...
21. Class size doubles on exam days.
22. There's always a "question kid" in at least one of your classes, and you really wish someone would just tell him/her to shut the hell up.
23. You no longer find it uncool to take naps. In fact, you quite enjoy them.
24. You set your clock 5-10 minutes ahead so you can potentially make it to class on time.
25. You eventually realize that setting your clock ahead makes no difference to you and you're still late.
26. You text faster than you type.
27. You only find out a class is canceled after you get there and sit for about ten minutes.
28. You open canned food and eat it... out of the can.
29. The words "google" and "wikipedia" have become verbs. And you use them... quite often.
30. You have to set the alarm for your 3:30 class.
31. You plan days in advance to skip a class.
32. You get up go to lunch with friends then decide to go your room and sleep instead of going to your one and only class.

Would you believe it.

Today i decided to go out and shop for new clothes and a pair of shoes to get my mind of uv nation. Plus i really needed the new shoes and clothes. Anyways, i entered this one mall, Zen Plaza, and would you believe what song was playing in the mall. Exploration of Space, Cosmic Gate. What a coincidence. I thought it was just that one song but after it they continued playing house and trance music. They even played This World Is Watching Me, Armin Van Buuren. What the hell. Just when i was trying to get my mind of any thing trance*y house*y or techno*ey. Oh well, at least i won't be thinking as much bout uv nation later as i expected. Gonna go play footsal. Luckily quite a number of the Malaysians play here. Gotta go get ready now. Whoever's going for u nation, blog bout it later. With pictures. Ciao

Life in Cartoon Motion

Life in Cartoon Motion is the debut album by Lebanon-born, London based singer Mika, released by Island Records on February 5, 2007 in the UK. It has received mixed reviews, earning one star from The Guardian and four stars in the London Evening Standard. The album received 1 out of 10 from the Drowned in Sound website, which prompted Brian May of Queen, a fan of Mika, to critice the website.Songs from the album include; Grace Kelly, Lollipop, My Interpretation, Love Today, Relax (Take It Easy), Any Other World, Billy Brown, Big Girl, Stuck in the Middle and Happy Ending.

Now forget everything that The Guardian or Drowned in Sound said, if you ever get the chance, you should definitely buy this album. Or as people our age nowadays do, download. Which by the way is illegal, so for any of you who do, Im dissapointed. My favourite songs in this album are; Relax (Take It Easy) and Grace Kelly. Lollipop and Ring Ring (a song from the US/Canada version) is also worth a listen. Anyways, im not really sure what the point of this post is, but whatever it is, listen to songs from Mika now. Especially Relax, Take It Easy.

Relax, take it easy
For there is nothing that we can do
Relax, take it easy
Blame it on me or blame it on you

oops i forgot something.

this post is dedicated to nabil because he's been complaining about not being able to go for uvnation sice 14 months ago. i officially name the picture below 'something that nabil cant have'.

lesson learnt on day one: always. wear. flats.

oh and i just found out today that staffs do get 30% discount. YEAY.

i want that white bag on the top shelf, that green bag but in beige, that small silver bag with a metal loop, that small transparent bag with metal chain straps, that big transparent bag with a scarf tied on one end, lachlan shoes in gold, laurinda in white and illite in black.

however, i make 5.50 per hour (i do not make rm105 per day nabil, you nut) and i cant afford any of those stuff for just the simplest of sandals made from the least amount of materials by nine west cost rm319. yes exactly.

I got confirmation of the bad news i was regretting to hear. I'm moving house on the tenth of june. Meaning i wont be able to go for uv nation which is on the ninth. Theres nothing i can say or do to excuse myself from the house on the night of the ninth. The night before the day of moving is the most important because all the final preparations will be done. So unfortunately i will have to be there. So no uv nation for me. Why why why why why why why why.

Football Final

I have succumbed to the request. The private universities football final was held at the kbu field last thursday. It was between our uni and help. Based on the opinion of ppl help is supposed to be really good in when it comes to futsal and football. Nothing to do with u sharifah haha.

So before the match haravinth was emo because he wasnt in the starting line-up. He didnt want to change before he got sounding from the 'coach' so he changed. He was promised to be played during the second half. SO the match started. There were few chances here and there. Nothing really dangerous. The was a far shot from the hubert dude that almost caught out the help keeper. Damn cool seriously.

To the second half. There were more chances. Haravinth came on. Lots of running from the left and right wingers. And the Papa guy wasnt happy with the referee. He accused the ref of being racist. That was a lil too much. Well u know the nigerians. Emotional and passionate. Oh ya syafiq came on during the second half too. The ref blew for full time and the scores were 0-0.

So to extra time 5 minutes each half. There was barely any chances but there was a little scuffle because the help players were a little stupid. Haha and they had a lot of indian karat friends but they didnt do anything because a whole bus of nigerians came haha. How cool is that. Oh ya i forgot to mention their kampang ppl were there too. Back to the football. Again the whistle blew ... to penalties.

Help won. Our team missed two ( arvind and vicky : sadly it had to be our friends that missed, both hit the bar some more). Help scored all their penalties. Maybe our keeper could have saved one or two but it wasnt to be. That was the end.

Our team did well to reach the finals on their first attempt and with a little of luck they could have won. Im confident next year they will. So come and support them next time because i would hope to think my support there helped. haha helped. help. how ironic.

seee yaaa.

Post-Season Development

Okay. So the football season (EPL) has just ended a few weeks back and for many of us, its going to seem like a long time till the new season starts again. In the mean time however, most of us will be rummaging through the back of newspapers or going online for the latest news, gossips and transfer dealing going on. For Manchester United fans everywhere around the world, excitement must be creeping through. After all the talk about the Owen Hargreaves transfer since the end of the World Cup, he will be completing his move to United on July 1st. And just yesterday, Manchester United officials confirmed the double swoop made by Sir Alex on two of Europe's future great talents, Nani from Sporting Lisbon and Anderson from FC Porto. Nevertheless, their future as United players hinge on passing their medicals which I'm sure they'll pass with ease and with Anderson's case, a permit to play in England.

Now, in my opinion, despite already having an amazing midfield, Hargreaves is a great addition to the United team. He's a tough tackler and loves a good challenge. He has great stamina and enthusiasm and will run around the pitch chasing the ball down. A player like Gennaro Gattuso and Roy Keane combined. Surprisingly, hi
s development at Bayern Munich has gone unnoticed for quite some time and yet, the amount of trophies he has won during his time there is unbelievable.

Team Honours: German Bundesliga 2001,2003,2005,2006
Champions League: 2001
Intercontinental Cup: 2001
German Football Federation Cup: 2003,2005,2006

German League Cup: 2004
Individual Honours: European U21 Player of the Year 2001, England Player of the Year in January 2007

The second new player to be joining the United team is highly rated Portugese winger, Nani (Luis Carlos Almeida da Cunha) from Sporting Lisbon, the same team from where Sir Alex bought the incredible Cristiano Ronaldo. Like Ronaldo, Nani is a product of Sporting's youth system and made his first team debut at the age of 18. Last season he played 29 league games, scoring 5 goals along the way. Again, Nani's addition to the squad is great, especially on the long-term horizon. While Ryan Giggs may still have a year or two left in him, Nani will be an equal replacement. Speedy on the wings and possess quick feet. Very much like a young Ryan Giggs. Plus, during the next two years or so, Giggs will be able to pass on his knowledge to the younger lad and maybe teach him a thing or two about the English Game.

Last but not least on Manchester United's shopping spree is FC Porto's exciting Brazilian starlet Anderson (Anderson Luis de Abreu Oliviera). The 19 year old is an attacking midfielder but can also play out wide or up front. While Manchester United did not seem unequipped in the midfield department after the above two purchases, a player of his calibre would do no harm to the team. He is a player who has been coveted by the world's best teams and is widely regarded to be one of the players of the future. He impressed while on international duty with Brazil in the 2005 U-17 World Cup, winning player of the tournament award and is already being labelled as 'the next Ronaldinho' in Portugal. He's also played a hand in FC Porto's back-to-back SuperLiga titles for the past two years, although a knee injury restricted him to just 15 league games last season.

What a week Manchester United management team has had. Hopefully, with these new purchases, and news of more to come, we can build on the success of last season. We now boast a team, especially a midfield, any team would dream of having. Ronaldo, Carrick, Scholes, Giggs, Hargreaves, Anderson, Nani, Fletcher, Richardson, Park Ji Sung and Eagles. Woah. Include that with our rock solid defense with players who've not yet reached their prime; albeit Gary Neville. Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Cathcart, Lee, Brown, Silvestre and the jack-of-trades player, John O'Shea. And highly rated Gerard Pique shall be making his way back to the United team after his year loan to Real Zaragoza. I did not include Gabriel Heinze in the list as speculation is rife that his departure is eminent. While it'll be a blow to see him leave, he'll always remain a crowd favourite with the fans. Up front, a new striker may be unveiled at United but I wonder how much cash the Glazers have left for Sir Alex Ferguson to spend. Currently we have Saha, Rooney, Smith, Solsjkaer, Dong and wonderkid Guiseppe Rossi returns from his year loan at Parma as well.

Certainly big things lie ahead for Manchester United and their fans. Imagine the sight of Nani and Ronaldo running down the wings, Carrick and Hargreaves dictating play from the center of midfield, Anderson and Rooney running rings round opposition defense. Pique and Rossi will also be vital as seen from their impact in the Reserve team. Back in the first year at United, they lead the Reserve to an unprecedented Quadruple and the year after, to a Treble.

I'm not sure what the another teams in the league will be doing in the summer, but you can't imagine anything better than this. Chelsea, despite all their wealth have only done one piece of business so far, free transfer Steve Sidwell from Reading. While Sidwell is a good player with a bright future, you wouldn't expect a team like Chelsea wanting him. Heck, they spent 30 million on Sheva. Im pretty sure they can buy much more greater players. As for Liverpool, they have landed highly-rated Hungarian pair Krisztian Nemeth and Andras Simon. Both are 18 and 17 respectively and I don't see them playing such a big role next season, unless Rafa continues with his rotation every single game. Arsenal, in my opinion have made the greatest acquisition amongst these three teams. Lukasz Fabianski, a goalkeeper from Poland, where he's regarded as the best shot stopper in the country. His arrival will finally help Arsenal in the league as currently they have unreliable Jens Lehmann and useless Almunia. They already possess a great young squad, with Fabregas and Van Persie leading the charge and the ever brilliant Thierry Henry. Maybe next season, their team will show maturity and play football to challenge for the title.

Outside the Premeirship, Bayern Munich have been really busy in the transfer markets. Despite off-loading Owen Hargreaves to Manchester United, they recently purchased their fifth new player, World-Cup Winner Luca Toni. He joins the squad along with Jan Schlaudraff, Hamit Altintop, Ernesto Sosa and Marcell Jansen. Of the five, I believe Jan Schlaudraff will play a big role in the Bayern future as they look to prosper in the league once again and someday Europe.

All in all, its only the beginning of July, so maybe ill be back to update you all with the overall happening of the transfer dealings in the Premeirship. Hopefully United can defend their title next season. Since the Premeirship was formed 15 years ago, United have claimed 9 titles. Next on the list is Arsenal with 3. Chelsea have 2 with Blackburn Rovers having 1. Will it be United's year again or will it be spoiled by some other team in the league...
